Wired News and Wired Magazine Reunited After 8 Years!
Wired News is being reunited with Wired Magazine after the two historically related but seperately owned and published media entities had been apart for eight years. The print magazine was bought by Conde Nast in the late 1990's, whereas the online-only Wired News was owned by Lycos. Part of this arrangement explicitly prevented Wired magazine from pursuing a Web presence beyond simply having its monthly magazine content hosted on the Wired News site. This made for the sadly ironic circumstances in which the most fervent, forward-thinking and influential magazine covering the culture of the Internet and technology did not have its own Web site. Now that the two are again part and parcel of the same publishing family, think of the possibilites.
