Gabba Gabba Hey! A.P.C. Johnny Ramone Tee

Some buddies recently returned from a trip to France. They picked up some cool items in Paris, where they made their obligatory stop by the A.P.C. store called "Magasin Generale" in Saint Germain des Pres. That's where they found (and bought) the A.P.C. Johnny Ramone memorial t-shirt. We love the understated design -- it doesn't explicitly identify who the figure is, but the iconic silhouette of Johnny Ramone in his classic guitar stance will be obvious to those in the know. Underneath, the years of Johnny's birth and death are a tip off.

Motorola iTunes MP3 Cell Phone Now Reality!

The much-hyped, much-anticipated and much-rumored-about MP3-player and cellphone collabo between Motorola and Apple is called the the Moto Rokr with iTunes and it's now available. The actual phone form-factor is a little different (and little more stylish) than some of those images that were circulating a few months ago. But let's be clear -- this is not an "iPod cellphone." It's just a new Motorola phone with the added capabilities of playing MP3 files from Apple iTunes. Still, it's a cool development, one though clearly inevitable given recent and current trends in the evolution of handheld devices, miniturization and feature creep in cellphones.

Dude! New iPod Nano is REALLY Thin!

Ok, you've got to admit that the new Apple iPod Nano is way, way cool. This is the big tech gear release of the season, if not the year. A colleague snapped up an iPod Nano the day it was released. She brought it to work last week and showed it off to us. We were impressed. The Nano is truly small, truly thin. The key adjective here, we think, is "sleek." But for serious music headz, the Nano may disappoint. Apple's new portable MP3 only holds about 1,000 tunes -- far less than the full-sized iPods. We're sorry, but, yes, we really want to have our 10,000 songs in our pocket wherever we go. The Nano is really, in practical terms for Apple, the replacement for the iPod Mini line, which will be phased out. What we say though? In terms of design, innovation and "wow," Apple has hit it out of park yet again.
