Top 6 Favorite Late Night Movie Reruns on IFC...

1. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels - Bloody hell! The British underworld doesn't mess around when it comes to illegal poker games and a half-million pounds worth of illicit herb. Did we mention the copious gunplay? Well, this flick's got that, too. It's bloody, violent AND funny, like Pulp Fiction, but with bad teeth, cockney rhyming slang and a cameo by Sting.
2. The Limey - So, your a 50-something British ex-con just released from prison and you're angry as hell. What are ya' gonna do? You're getting on a plane to L.A. where you will unleash a shitstorm of violence and psychological terror on the dude that double-crossed you years ago.
3. The Anniversary Party - A suprisingly accurate portrayal of Los Angeles' flaky thirty-something entertainment- media- arts-cognoscenti types as they wrestle with dropping ecstasy, barking dogs and hillside home ownership.
4. La Femme Nikita - A sexy, slightly unstable woman works as an assasin for the French government. Sweet!
5. Barton Fink - Dude, this is what happens to New York writers in L.A. when they don't get enough sex.
6. Hedwig and the Angry Inch - This movie ROCKS! Hell hath no fury like a partially trans-gendered woman scorned.

Top 4 Fave Hip Hop Artist Names...

1. Lil' Scrappy - Who knew? Scooby Doo's little nephew likes to get jiggy with it.
2. Common - Being extraordinary is so overrated.
3. Ghostface Killah - Ghost face, poker face--it's all the same when you're a "killah."
4. Chingy - Cuz it's right thurrr!

Underground hipster Brand and Designer "Built By Wendy" Busts Out Coolest T-Shirts of Summer!

Built by Wendy, t-shirts, tees, Wendy Mullin, fashion, style, designer, design, clothes, boutique,
celebs, celebrities, photo, image, picture, media, entertainment, pop culture, Air Massive

Built By Wendy has always been, first and foremost, an independent clothing label, though the eponymous designer Wendy Mullin received a lot of attention in the mid-90's for her line of cool guitar straps. Her recent clothing collection includes a line of graphic t-shirt designs that are based on the most original concept we've come across in the universe of designer tees.

Mullins' well-made and limited t-shirts and clothes (she creates collections for both men and woman) are sought after and sported by the hipster-celeb-indie-music-style jet set, including downtown indie rock luminaries Sonic Youth and hip-hop trio the Beastie Boys, who sported a Wendy tee design in a recent photo shoot for the cover of Japanese magazine Warp (see above image).

The shirts are silk-screened with illustrated images from popular teen exploitation films, mostly from the 70's and 80's. Or favorite is the design based on the film "Risky Business," which show Rebecca Demornay's sexy, pouty face staring out as a Chicago L train rushes by in the background. Trés cool.

Several designs riff off the 70's movie franchise "The Bad News Bears." Another design is a collection of faces of four bloodied movie characters from four different films, including Adam Baldwin from "My Bodyguard" and Bud Cort from "Harold and Maude."

Mullin's runs a small stylish boutique on one of the quietest, most overlooked and uneventful streets in lower Manhattan, Centre Market Place, behind the old police building and horse stables in the borderland between SoHo, Nolita and Chinatown. Another store is planned for Los Angeles. Meanwhile Wendy is busy designing a special boutique line of clothes for Wrangler jeans, Called Wrangler 47.

Christina (oops, we mean "Xtina") Aguilera has piled on another endorsement deal and will be heating up yet another series of print ads with her photogenic hotness, this time for the Skechers shoe brand. The advertising campaign is called "Naughty and Nice" and will roll out in August to support Skecher's Fall 2004 line of shoes. The ads feature Christina (er, Xtina) playing dual roles in scenes that illustrate fetishistic male sex fantasies.

Aguilera appears in one ad as a hospital patient and as a syringe-wielding nurse in tight hip-hugging white uniform that barely covers her panties and ... [MORE]

Everyone's favorite hip-hop-fashion mini-mogul Kimora Lee Simmons has just notched the first--of what may still be many--scandalous revelation in a future episode of E! True Hollywood Story. She got arrested. Way to go, Kimora!

Police arrested Kimora outside her New Jersey mansion Sunday night after the queen of Baby Phat allegedly failed to comply with police requests to pull over the Mercedes Benz she was driving. According to the news reports, Kimora led police on a two-mile pursuit. After pulling over outside her Bergen County home, her Benz was searched and a small amount of marijuana was found in the vehicle.

Now here's the kicker. Her arrest came as her husband and hip-hop music and fashion business billionaire Russell Simmons was ... [MORE]

Meeee-OW!: Critics Dump Hate on Catwoman Reviews Crown Flick Big Crap Movie of Summer!

Well, it's official. Catwoman, starring Halle Berry as the feline superhero, in a word, SUCKS! The movie sucks Big time! And the critics agree.

But the weekend box office tells a different story as of late Sunday night. According to estimates by Exhibitor Relations Co. Inc., which tracks box office performance, Catwoman came in third place in earnings during its opening weekend on U.S. screens, earning $17.16 million.

That's a moderately healthy showing, but far shorter than what studios execs at Warner Bros. Entertainment and the film's producers had hoped the flick would earn in its first weekend. (The Bourne Supremacy and I, Robot, came in first and second places respectively. See totals below.)

While the box office and Marvel Comics fans have given Catwoman some love at the theaters, the critics' negative reviews and bad word of mouth during the next week or two might ... [MORE]

MEDIA: PRINTED MATTER: "SWINDLE"

You Will Buy and Obey! Street Artist Shephard Fairey Launches Stunning New Pop Culture Mag!

Swindle, magazine, cover, Grandmaster Flash, Shephard Fairey, Obey, Giant, Obey the Giant, street, art, fashion, pop culture, celebs, celebrities, photo, image, picture, media, entertainment, Air Massive

We haven't been this excited about a big new magazine launch in a long time, not only because Swindle magazine looks so fresh, but also because it's largely the brainchild of Shephard Fairey. If you don't recognize the name, you may recognize Fairey's street art-turned-brand Obey Giant--its logo is designed around an iconic image of the late great wrestler Andre the Giant.

Obey Giant became a worldwide street-marketing phenomenon in the 90's. In a few years it went from a guerrilla sticker-art campaign to a global commercial brand in a way that has become a textbook study for marketers and culture-jammers alike. Now the same mind behind Obey Giant brings us Swindle magazine.

According to the Swindle Web site, the quarterly magazine aims to be ... [MORE]
